Melanie believes trauma and anxiety can have a huge impact on our bodies, thought patterns, relationships, and so much more. You might find yourself feeling overwhelmed, lost in thought, thinking of the worst-case scenarios, and avoiding tasks or responsibilities. Perhaps you want to support yourself through this and you’re ready to feel connected to your body, trust yourself, speak your truth, and show up in the world aligned, authentic, and connected.
Working with Melanie involves somatic experiencing which is a body based approach to trauma healing, stress reduction and much more. You will better understand what your body is communicating to you and gently release what the body has stored from past experiences. This is a collaborative process that fosters safety, connection, understanding, and value.
“Being comfortable in your own skin and having tools that help you relax is a really big deal, but learning how to feel safe with others is revolutionary."

Approach To Therapy
The Somatic Experiencing method is a body-oriented approach to the healing of trauma and other stress disorders. Somatic Experiencing explores where an individual may be “stuck” in a fight, flight, or freeze response and works with an individual’s natural resilience to move through these “stuck” self-protective responses.
Internal Family Systems focuses on a client's internal “parts” and “Self.” In IFS, the mind is considered to be naturally made up of multiple sub-personalities or families within each individual's mental system.
Acceptance Commitment Therapy encourages people to embrace their thoughts and feelings rather than fighting or feeling guilty for them.
Meditation and Visualizations our brain does not know the difference between something we imagine/visualize and something that is actually happening. Therefore visualizations are a powerful tool that allows the body to complete instinctual self protective responses.

“Working with Melanie has been transformative! I used traditional therapy methods for years, but they only managed certain symptoms. After working with Melanie, I no longer have panic attacks, I healed from my traumatic experience, and I actually feel an inner peace and confidence for the first time! I highly recommend working with Melanie and trying somatic experiencing. It is truly life changing!”
